In Kentucky, children can work in their family businesses under fourteen years old. K.R.S. §339.210. Also, they can babysit or clean houses, have a paper route, cut grass, or work on a farm. Id.

Otherwise, children must be fourteen years old to work. K.R.S. §339.230. Hours when a child may work are limited. See the Kentucky Labor Department poster with a summary of statutes and regulations. Certain hazardous and other occupations are off-limits to certain age groups. Generally, the Kentucky Labor Department poster contains some of these limitations. But there are so many exceptions, employers should consult K.R.S §339.230 and 803 KAR 1:100 and an attorney for advice.
